Bonnie is deeply engaged in advocating for local children, youth and families and in advocacy for local, state and federal policy with particular focus on public health and justice and the relationship between climate and health and how the climate crisis disproportionally affects marginalized fence-line communities and communities of color.
She serves on the Napa-Solano Medical Society Board, is a delegate to the California Medical Association, is chair of her District Delegation and a member of the CMA Council on Legislation. She also serves on the Steering Committee of the Medical Society Consortium for Climate and Health representing the American Medical Women’s Association.
As a community volunteer, she is on the Board of Sustainable Solano and the Executive Board of the Solano Sierra Club. In the past, she also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the Clild Welfare System and served on the Board of the Solano County Library Foundation.
She trained as a Climate Reality Leader in 2017 with Nobel Laureate and former Vice-President Al Gore. The training was life-altering and made it undeniably clear that we need to change the trajectory we are on for ourselves and for future generations. She has since dedicated her life to educating folks about and implementing solutions to the climate crisis
She serves on the Climate Reality Bay Area Chapter Leadership Team as Policy Action Co-Chair and was Chapter Co-Chair in 2022. She also leads a Solano County Climate Policy Action Team.
She is an elected member to the Solano County Democratic Party and Chair of the Legislative Ad Hoc Committee. She is also a Delegate to the California Democratic Party. She is an Emerge California graduate and ran for county Board of Education in 2020.
She enjoys music, dance, swimming and being in nature. She has an awesome adult daughter who is a research scientist in San Diego.
